Spring Flowers (and more) #3

Spring Flowers (and more) #3. Every day there is something new to see. The yuccas are now out. There are two kinds of yucca native to this area. The larger of the two is the Banana yucca (Yucca baccata). The smaller is the Soapweed yucca (Yucca glauca).

The Claretcup cactus continues to bloom. Here is a third variant – the Mound cactus

Rio Grande
Taos Creek & Prow (eastern face)

The Prow is the downstream end of the mesa that intervenes between the gorges of the Rio Grande, and its tributary, Taos Creek.

And finally, my favorite family of Canada geese (seen in prior posts). The seven goslings are growing quickly. Canada geese are monogamous, for the purpose of having two parents available to guard their offspring until they are fledged.
