Owners of New Wave Rafting Co Kathy and Steve Miller were joined by Operations Manager Britt Huggins and guide CJ Robison for a dive trip to Bonaire, in January. Gotta love corals reefs and all that undersea life!
We’ve been around quite a while, and the guy 2nd. from left – Britt Huggins – is still with us! He’s our Operations Manager, and a critical player in producing that
New Wave magic!
Along the Orilla Verde Recreation Section of the Rio Grande River, I have had many opportunities to photograph the wintering Bald Eagles. These images are of two such eagles. One is a mature eagle of at least 4 years of age. The other is a 2 year old, it shows the distinct markings of what is called White Belly II phase.

New Wave Rafting Co. owners Kathy and Steve Miller, along with Operations Manager Britt Huggins, took a busman’s holiday in September, and traveled to Oregon to run the famous Rogue River. It was beautiful, and had lots of fun whitewater. We took 5 days to do the run.
Here on the Rio Grande river, we’re now closing in on the end of our season. Not because there’s no water. No! Rather because, now that kids are back in school in Texas, our bookings are much reduced, and there really is no good reason to stay open. So, we’ll close a week from Sunday. That will be our last day, Sunday the 29th. We’ll probably open next year around May 1. Stay tuned.
Here’s some of the action on the river lately, photo by our Operations Manager and Official Photographer Britt Huggins (aka Britt Runyon). Racecourse white water section of the Rio Grande river, near Taos, New Mexico
