Our first trip with New Wave was when our son was approximately 5 years old. He is now 18 & I think that we have had a New Wave trip every summer but one since our initial voyage. Every year we have a fantastic time & this year was no exception. We hope to see you next summer. |

I wanted to let everyone at New Wave Rafting know about the outstanding experience we had on August 13 with Karen as our guide.
After initial confusion about where we were to be picked up, we arrived late at the put-in spot. Karen had already been told her riders were no-shows and that she was free to go home--so it was obvious that our late arrival was less than convenient for all. My daughter and I were in tears after driving two hours and believing that we had missed the trip, but Karen rallied like the true professional she is and agreed to take us anyway. Little did she imagine what was in store.
Less than halfway down our course, my husband began experiencing a severe anxiety attack (not caused by the trip but probably triggered by the excitement of the rapids). Karen was exceptionally professional and alert in the way she handled what was, I'm sure, an extremely stressful situation for her. Reassured by me that it was an anxiety attack and not a heart attack or something else life-threatening, she nonetheless offered contingency plans at every opportunity--offering my husband the option of pulling out at the side of the river and getting on a bus belonging to another raft operator; slowing down the trip to ensure she was going at a pace comfortable and safe for all; and, in general, remaining calm, assessing the situation, and responding appropriately to all of us.
I am sure that no one in our raft was more anxious than Karen for that ride to be over, but she was a trouper throughout. In addition to her obvious considerable technical skill in helping us navigate the river, her calm, caring, and authoritative demeanor left us feeling safe and in the best of hands.
I hope you will forward this to the Millers and to Karen, along with my heartfelt thanks for the way she handled our little family crisis. Thank you, Karen: you are a force of nature.

7/28/10 My family had a wonderful time rafting on the Rio Grande with your company last week. Our guide was Mike I believe (Airborne Ranger background) and he was absolutely a fantastic guide and great person to share this wonderful experience with. All I have to say is WOW!!!!!! Today was absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for better guides than Michael and Neil. Words that come to mind when we think of these two people: about Neil, fun, from Jade, laid back, from Simone, surfer dude, from Tinie, adventurous, from Marentia....hot, from Mia; about Michael, outstanding, from JoBob, strong and great expert, from Tinie, very competent, from Engela, helpful and considerate, from Marentia, and greatly respected (where's the love man?....please send my regards to Orlando).

7/26/10 Hello New Wave! My husband and I went rafting on Saturday with Neil, Shane, and Ryan. Neil was our guide and did a fantastic job! He not only charmed us with the local river tid bits, but also helped save a woman's life. Granted it's all in a days work for a guide, but that day all the guides deserved a pat on the back and a hug! Thanks for making it fun! Stay away from the bad rocks, Lisa Winter |

7/2/10 Dear NEW WAVE CREW especially our guides Ryan and Ben, I would like to thank you for the awesome trip you took us on, June 26, 2010. We took a group of 14 people from the White Sands Missile Range/Las Cruces area to Taos for a weekend getaway. I found your company online and I am so glad I did. You guys were a lot of fun, had your stuff together, and really love what you do. We split into two groups of 7 for our rafting adventure. Ryan was very knowledgeable of the area and made the trip really fun. He taught us how to “Rock the Narrows” and how to “Surf”. Our group had a blast with him as our guide, thank you so much!!! Ben your rafters told me that you were really good as well; they liked how you let them be in charge. You all were really friendly and made the trip great, we all look forward to planning future rafting adventures with you. Thank You!

7/2/10 Wanted to drop you folks a note and thank you for the fantastic day we spent rafting the Taos Box on June 23rd. Wow is all we can say! Britt......a GREAT guide, funny as hell, informative, knowledgeable not only about the river, but the history of the gorge, very patient and helpful with the rookies on board, some great stories too. We simply could not have asked for a better guide and will recommend New Wave and Britt to anyone and everyone. We are still talking about our trip and can't wait to do it again. Simply put, we had a blast and Britt had a lot to do with that! We will be back! Thank you again for such a great day, we can't say enough about the entire experience, you guys were first class, A-1!!!Respectfully,

5/30/2010 Also I would like to say we had a blast, Joe (my guide) and Britt (my kids guide) were wonderful!! They made the trip exciting and very fun. We had done the Race Course 3 or 4 times before with your company and always had a lot of fun, but from now on when we decide to go white water rafting we will do the Taos Box of course with New Wave Rafting. 5/27/10 We had the best time on this rafting trip. You guys at New Wave have been great on our 2 trips. The experience of the guides, their knowledge of the river and it's wildlife is among the best. Our guide, Neil, navigated us through the exciting rapids of the Taos Box without losing one rafter but almost took one for the team as he caught some big air at the Pin Ball. Neil got us all pumped for the Rock Garden as well he should have. What a ride that was. Brian Fintoski |

I have done a lot of whitewater rafting around the United States and I would have to say that our guide Jesse has been the best I have ever had; he was very knowledgeable about the river and his approach to the rapids, friendly, and, most importantly, fun to be around. It is great to have a guide like this because it was helpful to ease the fears of some of the people on our raft since it was their first time on an adventure like this ... Kudos to all at New Wave Rafting Co.... |
