Meet Our Guides!

Kathy Miller, with her husband Steve, founded New Wave Rafting Co. in 1980. Her outdoor activities have included mountaineering, rock climbing, kayaking, fly fishing, scuba diving, skiing and, of course, rafting. She has conducted Outward Bound courses in New Mexico, and is a Level 3 Certified Ski Instructor. She is also the mother of two children and a grandparent of four.

Steve Miller, with his wife Kathy, founded New Wave Rafting Co. in 1980. His outdoor interests parallel those of his wife Kathy. He has been an instructor in Outward Bound schools in Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington and New Mexico, and he is a Level 3 Certified Ski Instructor. He is a graduate of Harvard University, and a published author/photographer.

Britt Huggins is New Wave's Operations Manager and has been guiding New Wave trips since the 80's. His outdoor interests include rock climbing, kayaking, fly fishing and scuba diving. In 2008 he completed his Divemaster training. He is also a talented classical guitar player.

Dave Wassil (aka New Wave Dave) has been guiding for New Wave since the 80's. In 2008 he completed the construction of his new home in Ojo Caliente, which he built practically single-handed. He also kite boards, and has spent considerable time in Yosemite Valley and elsewhere rock climbing.

Bill Gould has been guiding for New Wave since the 80's. His outdoor interests include hiking, fly fishing, biking , skate boarding, snowboarding and skiing. He is the Director of the Snowsports School at Ski Santa Fe.

Peter Donahue has been guiding for New Wave since the 80's. His outdoor interests include mountaineering, rock climbing, biking , fly fishing, wind surfing and skiing. He is an Examiner with the Professional Ski Instructors of America, and the father of two.

Karen House has been guiding for New Wave since the 90's. She is a wilderness therapist and owner of Cocina del Rio, which pre-cooks and packages food for long-duration raft trips.

Neil Oberheide has been guiding for New Wave since the 90's. His outdoor interests include surfing, snowboarding, skiing, fly fishing and kayaking. In the winter he runs a snow cat, grooming ski slopes at night.

Ron Whitney has been guiding for New Wave since the year 2000. His outdoor interests include skiing, snowboarding and salt water fishing. In the winter he runs the parking crew at Ski Santa Fe.

Pat Brown has been guiding for New Wave since 2002. He is a realtor, Level 3 Certified Ski Instructor and father of one.

Patrick Chandler has been guiding for New Wave since 2004. He is a mountain enthusiast, with a background in mountain rescue, and leads Outward Bound-type experiences for youth. He is a graduate of St. Johns College, in Santa Fe.

CJ Robison has been guiding for New Wave since 2005. Her interests include rock climbing, botany, scuba diving and hiking.
